About the Artists
This special performance features the captivating collaboration of vocalist Aurora Scott and guitarist Peter Davison. Together, they explore the vibrant, soulful sounds of bossa nova, samba, and classic jazz standards, creating an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and warmly inviting.
An award-winning vocalist with a distinguished international career, Aurora Scott brings a unique depth to her performance. A graduate with Distinction from the Victoria Conservatory of Music in Jazz Studies, her voice has been praised by Canada Music Review as “expressive, smooth, sultry, and powerful all at once.”
What truly sets her apart in this genre is her two decades of experience as a professional Latin and Ballroom dance performer and educator—a background that provides an embodied understanding of the intricate rhythms and phrasing that define Latin jazz. She doesn’t just sing the music; she feels it in every note.
Complementing her vocals is Peter Davison’s masterful guitar work. A sought-after collaborator in the Nova Scotia music scene, Peter’s intricate melodies and nuanced harmonic support provide the perfect foundation for Aurora’s voice, resulting in a seamless and magnetic musical dialogue.
